More than 1,400 students were included on the Harding University dean's list for grades achieved during the fall 2016 semester.

Harding volleyball sophomore Zoe Hardin was the GAC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.

The Harding women's soccer team had six players named All-Great American Conference on Wednesday. Bethany Sutherland, Hannah Wilhelm and Melita Sutherland were named first team, Morgan Springborn and Carley Stevens were second team and Jessica Woessner was honorable mention.

Harding senior offensive lineman Eric Mitchell, junior offensive lineman Bryce Bray and senior defensive lineman Cordell Zalenski each earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 honors Thursday. It was the first time since 2010 that Harding placed three members on the academic all-district team.

Harding had five players earn All-Great American Conference in men's soccer.

Seventeen students were inducted into Phi Sigma Iota, the University chapter of the foreign language honor society. To qualify, juniors or seniors with majors and/or minors in foreign languages must maintain a GPA above 3.0 and be in the top 35 percent of their class.

Four Harding soccer players earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 7

Harding University inducted more than 100 students into the school's chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Society during a ceremony Oct. 16. Alpha Chi is a nationally acclaimed honor society designed to commend academic excellence in universities across the nation. Harding's chapter, called the Arkansas Eta chapter, is for the upper 10 percent of the junior and senior classes from all academic fields who have earned a minimum 3.85 grade point average over at least 80 course hours. It is also open to graduate students who rank in the top 10 percent of their specific program.

Students have been selected as members of the 2016-17 Harding University Concert Choir.

Students have been selected as members of the 2016-17 Harding University percussion ensemble.

Students have been selected for the 2016-17 Harding University Jazz Band.

Student musicians who play violin, viola, cello or double bass have been selected to play in the 2016-17 orchestra.

University students were selected for the 2016-17 Thundering Herd Marching Band.

Students were selected for the 2016-17 Harding University women's ensemble Belle Canto.

A group of students was selected as members of Belles & Beaux, a musical performance group at Harding University.

Students were selected for the 2016-17 Harding University Chamber Singers. The group sings Renaissance and contemporary music and performs under the direction of Dr. Kelly Neill, associate professor of music.

Members have been selected for the 2016-17 Harding University Chorus. Following auditions at the beginning of the fall semester, students were chosen for the 60-member ensemble that performs on and off campus.
