Harding School of Theology to host benefit art sale
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (05/23/2018) — Harding School of Theology will host an art sale from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, June 1 and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 2. The event will be held on the lower level of the HST Mansion located at 1000 Cherry Road, Memphis, Tennessee. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Harding School of Theology Fund, a general operating fund that helps defray student expenses.
The event, called Lydia's Remnant, will feature original and donated works by friends and patrons of the college. Items for sale include paintings, pottery, portraits, photography, 3D art, jewelry and artisan coffee.
"The name of our event comes from Acts 16," said Greg Muse, director of advancement. "A merchant and artisan named Lydia successfully maintained her household and supported the Apostle Paul and his entourage as they established a church in her community. We have talented artisans in our community and have asked them to donate art to sell for the benefit of the school."
