Sarah Roe of Brentwood experiences world religions in Chicago

2017 Apr 10

Sarah Roe of Brentwood traveled to Chicago on April 6-9 as part of requirements for a world religions class. Roe, Bible and ministry major, was among 90 students to participate in the trip designed to enlighten students about people and practices of major living religious traditions.

On Friday, students visited the Baha'I House of Prayer, the Hindu Temple Balaji, Islamic Foundation mosque and a Sikh Religious Society. At each location, students were met with tour guides, panel discussions, or social interactions like the traditional Sikh "langar" dinner. On Saturday, students attended Shabbat service at KAM Isaiah Israel Congregations and met with Buddhists at Soka Gakkai International.
