Andrea Warzecha of Melrose Selected for Harding University Wind Ensemble

Andrea Warzecha of Melrose was selected for the 2012-13 Harding University Wind Ensemble. The 55-member group offers band performance opportunities for advanced musicians and is open to musicians of all majors who successfully complete the required audition.

The Wind Ensemble performs on campus and travels within Arkansas and surrounding regions for frequent tours. The group also participates in state conventions, festivals and other events.

Warzecha, a sophomore undeclared major performed with the String Quartet and Orchestra for their opening fall concert Oct. 4. The program featured eight selections, including pieces by Bach, Tchaikovsky and Mozart. The groups performed under the direction of Dr. Michael Chance, assistant professor, director of bands and coordinator of the instrumental division.

Harding is the largest private university in Arkansas with 6,815 students and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state.
