2012 Jun 22

Kaitlyn Gordon of Jonesboro (72404) was one of 25 high school students that participated in Harding University's Pharmacy Camp June 17-22. The University's College of Pharmacy welcomed Gordon, a student at Valley View High School, for the fourth annual camp.

This program, sponsored by Walgreens, provided an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to explore the pharmacy profession through classes, hands-on learning experiences and other activities.

Activities included pharmaceutical laboratory experiences, group health and wellness projects, games and recreation, professional shadowing, and an introduction by Harding pharmacy faculty to curriculum and current topics in the field. Some of the camp class topics included preparing to become a pharmacy technician, diabetes and hypertension prevention and treatment, hospital pharmacy skills and pharmacy database research.
